FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

I have never cosplayed before. How do I start my first one?
- Of course! Here are some general tips:

Do I need to hand make my cosplay? 
Nope! Closet cosplays are welcome and second-hand/store-bought cosplays are allowed. If you are entering a second-hand or commissioned cosplay, you may not take credit for the original creator’s work. If you did self make at least 50% of your cosplay, we do encourage you to consider Judges' Choice!

Can I submit an older photo/older video/live performance/older skit?
- As long as you are 18+ in the photo or video, yes, you can! For video entries, be sure to obtain permission from everyone in the video and make sure no one is under 18. 

Can I submit a cosplay that has already won an award?
- Yes, you can!

Can I use generative AI in my submission?
- NO. 

How many entries may I submit?
- You may submit 1 entry per category. For example, you can submit a commissioned, second-hand, or store-bought cosplay into the photo voting contest and a self-made cosplay into the video voting contest, and vice verse. Note that only the self-made cosplay would qualify for Judges' Choice. 

For the video contest, what qualifies for written permission?
- You can use screenshots of DMs asking for permission! 

How do I edit my photo into the template?
- Download an image editor of your choice on your computer, laptop, or phone. They are all transparent pngs, so you should be able to copy and paste it right on top of your photo entry. If you are unable to fit it into 1 of the templates, try another one. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need help!
