Why make a fake bandage tube top instead of manually wrapping bandages around your chest?
- Too lazy to do all the wraps each time
- Might accidentally bind your chest (which is unsafe)
- You can throw it in the wash & rewear- bandages are usually one time use
- If you don't want to use your natural chest shape, you can wear fake boobs or a bra underneath this top
What you need:
- 2 white shirts
- Either a sewing machine or needle & thread
1. Cut out a base white tube from a shirt (I'm using an old camisole).
1.5 optional- if you want to use an elastic to hold up the top, roll down one of the hems with enough space for an elastic and don't sew it all the way. That casing will be used for inserting an elastic. It is easier to do this step now, before sewing all the fake bandages on.
2. Cut up another shirt into strips (I'm using an old Tshirt). Mark out where you want the strips to be.
3. Pin the strips up the tube shirt, and leave an extra 2ft or so that won't be sewn to shirt. It doesn't need to be neat.
4. Sew it up and you can call this finished! Note that this will take a long time and be careful spread out the shirt like a sleeve and not to accidentally sew the shirt to itself. Now you can just put it on with very little effort and also put it in the laundry.
Optional follow up steps:
- Insert the elastic if you decided to use one. I use a safety pin, push the elastic through using the pin as a guide, while keeping one end of the elastic outside the whole. Then I sew the elastic to itself. For a more detailed explanation on how to insert an elastic, check out this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEbAwyrF1NM
-You can use the extra strips to for additional wraps to blend everything together or make it more form fitting.
